The 2007-2008 Cricket Season comes to a close.

The 07-08 season has certainly been a mixed one for the club and the cricketing fraternity as a whole, with many teams missing out on games due to the bad weather, or should I say welcome rain. But we can cetainly boast success for those teams that went on to win and win comvicingly. This has meant that the club ends its season with the Under 10s doing exceptionally well in the Canterbury Wests comp, getting on top and the U10 Bengals, U11 Bengals & U12 White Tigers getting to the semis in Gladesville.

Our U11 Golden Tigers in the Gladesville Association playing in a Sunday Competition went through to a final and  are now the Premiers. Congratulations boys on a job well done.

Our U11s in the Canterbury Wests Association did not get threough to finals but equiped themselves well during the season finishin in the middle of the competition.

Our U13s Black tigers in a U14 comp in the South Eastern Association, have held their own against top opposition, falling short in the semi, a fantastic effort and shows emense skill to get that far.

Our U16s in the CW sunday comp had gained the top ground most all season and were streets ahead of the opposition, being Minor Premiers, but in the final we were seen to be wanting  and lost to Summer Hill. There is always another season for half the team that will come back. What cant be taken away from them is the great effort put forward by them during the season. Runners up is still a great result.

Our U15s, (really an U14 team and last years U13 Premiers) have shouldered the U16 comp in CW and weathered the storm. One can only admire them for it. But this can only steel their rersolve and experience for next season and the one after and they will emerge on top as they were last year in the U13s. On top.

Our senior boys Open age team playing in the Gladesville Park comp in B Grade have gone on to figure in their first grand final, winning by  an outright. Fantastic boys. Some of these young men have been to semis and finals like our 16s and missed out on numerous occasions, so it was a sweet victory for them.

 A great result all round.

Well done Balmain.
